Qualifying Pasadena Arts Council organizational members who do not yet have their own 501(c)(3) designation may apply to Pasadena Arts Council for a fiscal sponsorship which will allow them to seek grant funding from foundations, corporations and other potential funders. Arts Council members applying for local, regional and national grants may request assistance in reviewing the financial sections of grant applications to ensure compliance with the grantor's specifications and nonprofit regulations. Communication Services The bimonthly publication of the Pasadena Arts Council features profiles on artists and local arts companies, announcements of upcoming events, important information on grants and scholarships, and articles on issues and trends in the cultural sector. Also contains Source Notes, a regular column devoted to new books, websites and other media with an arts focus. Free to supporters and members of the Pasadena Arts Council. In partnership with the Pasadena Public Library, the online Arts & Culture Calendar lists events in visual, performing and literary arts, as well as lectures, tours and other cultural events in the Pasadena area. An easy-to-use online form allows performances, exhibits, festivals and other special events to be posted to the Calendar. Community Program Advocacy The Pasadena Arts Council participates in various local arts initiatives in the fields of arts education, cultural tourism, the City of Pasadena arts masterplan ("Cultural Nexus") and others, and advocates for greater support for artists and arts organizations. Community Recognition On an annual basis, cash awards are given to young people training in Pasadena-area schools for their excellence in visual and performing arts. Our vision is to reward and honor artistic promise in high school students at a time in their life when decisions about careers and livelihood are being formulated. Awards are given in dance, instrumental music, drama and visual arts. The Pasadena Arts Council annually honors individuals and organizations for exceptional achievement in their fields, and for significant contributions to the visual, performing and literary arts. |
