		OPEN TO HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS AND SENIORS IN PASADENA AND SOUTH PASADENA AREA PUBLIC, PRIVATE, AND PROFESSIONAL SCHOOLS The Pasadena Arts Council presents the 2008 Young Artist Awards! The Arts Council will give awards this year to outstanding high school juniors and seniors who demonstrate exceptional promise in each of four fields: Dance, Instrumental Music, Theater, and Visual Arts. The amount of each award is $1,000, which can make a substantial difference in the future education of students interested in the arts. In an effort to appeal to students today who are becoming more technologically savvy, the Arts Council requests that students submit their portfolios and audition footage via CDs and YouTube. Below are links to the guidelines and application form for this year's award. The deadline for all materials is Monday, April 14, 2008. The award winners will be announced on Friday, May 9, 2008. The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 5, 2008, at the Pasadena Arts Council's Gold Crown Awards. Winners of this award must be available to attend the Gold Crown Awards ceremony.
