Rather than categorize and limit organizational members by their size or budget as we had in the past, all arts and culture organizations may join as members for $75, regardless of size. This will lower rates across the board for organizations by $25 to $225. We are also lowering our rates for artists, to a flat rate of $25. Schools may join the Arts Council for no charge. The programs and services of the Pasadena Arts Council will continue to expand as we further our mission of support to the arts. A fundamental means of support, however, is to recognize that these are deeply challenging economic times for all artists, arts and cultural organizations, and to demonstrate our commitment of support (especially to smaller and mid-sized organizations) by reducing our rates. At the same time, we are asking our individual and corporate members, current and prospective, to help us pick up the slack by carefully considering how much meaning the arts bring to all of our lives and pledging their support.
