Norooz Pasadena is an educational and cultural tradition that seeks to educate the non-Iranian community of Pasadena and its neighboring cities about the history and origins of the Iranian New Year. “Norooz” means ‘new day’ and refers to a new beginning, a new year. It begins precisely at the time of the vernal equinox, which marks the beginning of spring.
In 2013, Norooz Pasadena will be celebrated on Thursday, March 14, at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Pasadena.
