The Los Angeles Yiddish Opera (LAYO) is committed to collecting, transcribing and performing Yiddish vocal music and music related to Yiddish themes. LAYO also seeks to educate the public about this repertoire and create new musical editions, and the opera realizes this goal by creating transcriptions and new musical editions of works that are physically deteriorating.
