PROGRAMS AND SERVICES
In addition to these programs and services, the Pasadena Arts Council acts as a community resource and information clearinghouse,
a convener of networking events and a source for grant review. In its role as an advocate for Pasadena’s arts and cultural community,
the Pasadena Arts Council acts as a liaison between the City of Pasadena and the cultural institutions and continually works to bring
programmatic and monetary support to these organizations to ensure that Pasadena’s arts and culture scene remains vibrant and active.
ADVOCATE
The Pasadena Arts Council advocates for increased funding and other support for the arts, works with city agencies and commissions and serves as a communications link on key issues facing the arts in the region.
Bimonthly publication that profiles artists, promotes Pasadena’s many cultural organizations and offers important information on events and opportunities in the area, FREE to supporters and members of the Pasadena Arts Council.
AxS Festival: A biennial celebration of art and science
A multi-disciplinary festival providing a diverse set of high-quality artistic and educational activities that interpret a specific theme.
EMPOWER
EMERGE Fiscal Sponsorship Program
This program incubates individual projects and emerging organizations, offering them the ability to seek funding through fiscal sponsorship, and supporting participants during a crucial stage.
Cultural Leadership Council
Quarterly roundtable meeting of cultural leaders focused on marketing, cultural tourism and advocacy.
Young Artist Awards are given to high school students who exhibit exceptional promise in one of four disciplines: dance, theatre, instrumental music and visual art.
FACILITATE
A list of many of the Pasadena area’s vibrant and eclectic art galleries with links to each gallery and information on current shows.
A partnership with the Pasadena Public Library, the online Arts and Culture Calendar allows local organizations to post their events and exhibits, lectures and festivals in the visual, performing and literary arts to a public calendar.
A guide of local resources, support organizations and other essential information designed for working visual, performing and literary artists and useful to organizations and the general public.

The Pasadena Arts Council is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization that provides resources, programs and services
to artists, arts and cultural organizations, audiences, young people and visitors to Pasadena. The agency offers an independent voice
for promoting a vibrant cultural community by facilitating, empowering and advocating for the arts.
